Cullen's 1st hospital trip

Ryan's sister Georganna, her husband, and their 2 kids decided to take a trip up to see Ryan for a little mini vacation. Cullen and I thought it would be a great idea to ride along and spend some time with Daddy. We had already seen the zoo, but it would be fun to see it with Trey and Julien as well!! We planned it all out and we piled into my Tahoe and headed up there the Friday morning of Memorial Day Weekend.

You can't see Trey, but he is curled up sleeping behind Cullen.

Our driver making funny faces for the camera!!

It was an 8 hour trip, but with 3 children between the ages of 1 and 11 and a smoker we planned to stop often!! Half way there we stopped to get something to eat and realized Cullen had a fever. I didn't think much of it. I honestly thought it was his teeth because he had one more molar coming out. As the day progressed his fever got higher. I gave him some Motrin and he went to sleep and it broke. Once we got there it was back and it stayed until Saturday night.

Saturday we went to the zoo and had a great day there. Cullen and I struggled because we were hot and he was whiny. We were going to stay at the camper but Ryan was convinced it was something in the camper making him sick! Sunday morning we woke up and he was wheezing very very badly. We decided to take him to the ER and i'm glad we did. They diagnosed him with Croup and Bronchitis. He went through torture while we were there, but we made it out ok and we are now healthy and back to normal!!

They drew blood, gave him a breathing treatment, drew more blood, gave him an antibiotic, and gave him a shot all at the same time...it wasn't pretty!!

Momma's baby was not very happy!!
Daddy waiting to be able to leave...we were sort of delirious!
He was getting some life back into him!
The ride back the next day was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E, but we made it and we have come to the realization that we will not drive anywhere over 4 hours....sick or healthy baby!
:-)
I have more pics from that weekend, but they aren't on my camera. When I get them from Georganna I will post more!
